The long-awaited Minecraft 1.22 update is almost here, bringing fresh features, visual upgrades, new mobs, blocks and technical improvements. Let’s dive in!
Shelf Block – Instant Loadout Switch
The new Shelf block lets you store and swap up to three item stacks. When linked to redstone, it acts like a preset loadout system—switch between mining, farming or combat gear in seconds. Perfect for PvP servers!
Copper Golem – Storage and Automation
The Copper Golem automatically transfers items from copper chests to nearby containers. Over time, it oxidizes and turns into a decorative statue with four possible poses that emit different redstone signals. Use an axe to clean oxidation or apply wax to preserve its state.
Built-in Shaders Now in Bedrock Edition
The Bedrock version now includes native Vibrant Visuals shaders. These add realistic shadows, directional lighting, water reflections and atmospheric fog without requiring any mods. Easily enabled from the Graphics settings menu and fully compatible with Xbox, PS5, Switch, mobile and DX12 PCs.
Mining and Redstone Improvements
New underground structures, more diverse cave generation and refined ore layouts enhance mining. With the new Golem and Shelf block, redstone builds get even more dynamic and flexible.
UI and Quality of Life Tweaks
- Auto-sorting inventory feature.
- Improved mob pathfinding and AI.
- Less lag on redstone-heavy maps.
- Command improvements and chat UX enhancements.
